My Everything Cowl

I was looking at "A Treasury of Knitting Patterns" and fell in love with the Valentine Cable. So I started converted it to be knit in the round for a cowl. I love it, my sister called it "very girly".


Sizes:
One size fits most adults (24")

Yarn:

Bernat Softee Chunky

Gauge:
  4stitches / 1 inches on 5.5 mm needles over stockinette st

Abbreviations: 
LTP- slip 1 stitch onto cable needle (cn) hold front, P1, P1 from cn
RTP- slip 1 stitch onto cn and hold back, P1, P1 from cn
BC- slip 1 stitch onto cn and hold back, K2, then P1 from the cn
Single BC- slip 1 stitch onto cn hold back, K1, then P1 from cn
FC- slip 2 stitches onto cn and hold in front, P1, then K2 from the cn
Single FC- slip 1 stitch onto cn hold front, P1, then K1 from cn
C4F- slip 2 stitches onto cn and hold in front, K2, then K2 from the cn
C6F- slip 3 sts into cn hold back, K3, K3 from cn
C6B- slip 3 sts into cn hold front, K3, K3 from cn  

Materials:
 5.5 mm (US 9) 20" circular (or 16" if you don't have a 20")
 12 stitch markers - 1 of style A, 5 of style B, and 6 of style C

Method:
Using 5.5 mm 20" (or 16") circular needles, cast on 96 sts. Placing marker style A and join in round.
P one round placing markers as such- *P3, place marker B, P16, place marker B, P3, place marker C, P10, place maker C* until end. You should have 3 sections of 16 and 3 sections of 10 with 3 stitches in between.

In the sections of 16 you will follow the Valentine Cable (below), in the sections of 3 you will ALWAYS purl and in the 10 you will follow the Ribbon Cable (again below)

Repeat for 35 rounds.
